Ft. Myers, Florida --

The third race of the Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing Association in Ft. Myers brought a number of weather-related challenges, including a tropical depression.

 

 

In OSS Vee, the Montano-Hartmann sponsored # 8 Spiderman with Ken Bowen and Scot Conrad won first place after leading from start to finish. #76 Pier 57 with Mike Seebold and Reggie Fountain III took second place even though they started the race with their engine hatch partially open. The hatch finally fell off completely. Third place was taken by #88 Fury with brothers Ray and Steve Delaney who had their best performance of the season.

Currently, the Spiderman Skater is in first place in the points standings in the OSS Vee category. Spiderman leads with 295 total points. The Switch is in second place with 283 points, followed by Pier 57 with 266 total points.

Pickwick, Tennessee --

The Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing Association celebrated the second race of the season in Pickwick, Tennessee. In the OSS Vee category, the Montano Hartmann-sponsored #8 Spiderman boat took first place. Ken Bowen and Scot Conrad led from the beginning of the race in the 39 Skater. Second place was taken by #99-The Switch in a 39 foot Extreme.

Biloxi, Mississippi --

The Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing Association started the season with the second annual Smokin' the Sound. Montano Hartmann racing sponsored the #8 Spiderman boat, which finished second to #99 -- The Switch. Spiderman's owner, Todd Welling, will sit out the 2005 season with a broken leg. Driver Ben Hedrick and throttleman Mark Kowalski were new to the boat.
